Responsibilities

• Move and prepare sheet metal for work
• Measure surface dimensions to determine length, width, thickness, and coverage
• Operate shears to cut doors, sides, roofs, and small parts
• Operate punch press to cut holes and shapes
• Operate press brakes to bend corners and adjust back gauges
• Operate notcher to make cuts for doors, sides, roofs, and small parts
• Operate grinders and cutting torches as required
• Move material into position and maintain a clean work area

Compensation:

$22 - $24 hourly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to lift heavy materials and tools
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience in working with machinery such as press brakes and shears
• Ability to cut parts, punch, and bend with press brakes as needed

• May operate grinders and cutting torches
• Fabricates plastic barriers using appropriate tools and equipmentMoves material into proper position, cleans, and maintains work area
