Job summary

IES in Canton, OH is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our Fabrication team. The role involves setting up and operating sheet metal fabrication machines to produce high-quality parts while following safety protocols.

The ideal candidate will read technical drawings, measure with precision, and operate tools such as tape measures and calipers. A minimum of two years in production or machine operation is preferred, with tow motor and overhead crane certification required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of production/machine operation experience preferred.
• Tow Motor and Overhead Crane certifications required (onsite training available).
• PPE, GHS and LOTO trainings are provided.

Responsibilities

• Read prints, setup sheets and assembly instructions for each project.
• Operate sheet metal fabrication machines safely and productively.
• Set up machines by selecting programs and tools per spec.
• Ensure proper die clearance for accurate setups.
• Load/secure steel, aluminum and stainless steel onto machines.
• Measure parts with tape measures, calipers, and other tools.
• Record daily production data on routing sheets.
• Perform self-setup by matching programs to materials and tools.
• Safely operate tow motor and overhead crane to move materials.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify and report any issues to leadership or QA.
