Job summary

Soap Creek Resources is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer focused on sheet metal fabrication to drive efficiency, quality, and tooling design for agricultural equipment. You will develop and optimize fabrication processes, jigs, fixtures, and automate plasma/laser cutting, bending, forming, and welding operations.

The role requires 3+ years in sheet metal fabrication and strong CAD skills (Creo). You will collaborate with product engineering on DFM and support CNC programming and capital

Qualifications

• BS in Agricultural, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience with sheet metal fabrication including profiling and bending equipment (lasers, brake presses, shears and saws).
• Good 3D CAD skills, preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize fabrication processes for structural steel and sheet metal components used in agricultural equipment.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling to ensure consistency, repeatability, and ergonomic safety in plasma/laser cutting, bending, forming, and welding.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework in fabrication operations.
• Collaborate with product engineering on design for manufacturability (DFM), particularly for fabricated parts.
• Program or support programming of CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, and repeatable parts for robotic welding cells.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments to support production planning and equipment utilization.
• Support the implementation of capital equipment projects, including machine selection, layout, and installation.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to fabrication quality or equipment issues.
