Job summary

Mount Kemble Search Group in Hudson, NH is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Fabrication Estimator to deliver accurate cost estimates for custom sheet metal parts, assemblies, prototypes and production runs. You will interpret engineering drawings, customer specs, and CAD models to determine manufacturing requirements.

You will calculate material costs, labor hours, machine time, tooling and external services, develop routings for laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, and assembly, and

Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating experience in sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Proficiency with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations for custom sheet metal parts, assemblies and projects.
• Review RFQs, drawings, specifications and CAD models to determine manufacturing requirements.
• Calculate material costs, labor hours, machine time, outside services, tooling and production costs.
• Develop routings and process plans for laser cutting, punching, forming, welding and assembly.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
• Recommend design-for-manufacturability (DFM) improvements to reduce costs.
• Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and support quoting.
• Maintain quote history, pricing databases, and estimating documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for estimating accuracy and turnaround times.
• Assist with job planning and process optimization.
