Job summary

Gallo Mechanical LLC is seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator to join our high-performing Preconstruction team. You will develop cost estimates for sheet metal and HVAC ductwork, bid projects, and provide pre-construction support.

Responsibilities include reading mechanical drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, compiling estimates, and coordinating with clients, engineers, and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience reading mechanical drawings, specs, and RFQs to bid sheet metal scopes.
• Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs using estimating software.
• Experience drafting cost breakouts with clear scope, inclusions, and exclusions.
• Familiarity with SMACNA standards and duct construction practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication for coordination with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings and specs to define sheet metal scope and bid requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for ductwork and accessories.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and high-level project scoping.
• Manage bid calendar and ensure timely proposals across multiple pursuits.
• Review material takeoffs, pricing, and subcontractor quotes for accuracy.
• Prepare proposals and cost breakouts with documented assumptions.
• Assist in conceptual budgets and procurement strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project teams during scope reviews.
