You will work within Amada CAM/nesting software to select tooling, sequence operations, and optimize material yield while interfacing with engineering and shop floor teams.

The role requires reading blueprints and CAD/DXF files, adjusting bend allowances, and validating materials and finishes before release.

Qualifications

Proven proficiency with Amada CAM/nesting software or similar.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD/DXF files.
Solid understanding of sheet metal geometry, bend allowances, and fabrication standards.

Responsibilities

Translate blueprints, take-off sheets, and CAD/DXF files into fabrication-ready programs for CNC laser cutting, punch/laser, and press brake equipment.
Program and maintain cut files, nests, and bend sequences within CAM/nesting software; update tooling/material libraries.
Select tooling for each job based on material type, gauge, and geometry; implement accurate bend allowances.
Input precise dimensions, bend allowances, radii, and gauge specifications to ensure first-piece accuracy.
Execute nesting operations to maximize material yield and minimize scrap across standard and custom sheet sizes.
Verify material type and finishes before releasing programs to the shop floor; simulate for collisions and efficiency.
Coordinate with shop supervision and Production Planning to sequence fabrication to meet deadlines.
Train operators on program intent, tooling changes, and in-process adjustments; support new software implementations.
Support continuous improvement to reduce cycle time, scrap, and tooling changeovers; ensure ISO compliance.
