Job summary

Trew is seeking an Automation Fabrication Technician for the second shift (Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am) to support its advanced sheet metal fabrication system. The role covers operation, programming, maintenance, and continuous improvement across laser cutters, press brakes, robots, and automated storage.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in engineering or manufacturing or hands-on experience with metal forming machines, plus strong problem solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Problem solving, communication, and attention to detail are essential.
• Experience programming and operating metal forming machines (laser, punch, press brake, mill, lathe).
• Strong computer competence and sheet metal fabrication knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Operate key elements of the sheet metal fabrication system.
• Software: Use specialized software to program and operate major system elements.
• Business Process: Estimate fabrication times, balance workload, and manage work in progress to meet schedules.
• Maintenance: Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance to ensure uptime.
• Training: Learn new skills and software tools through formal and on-the-job training.
