Job summary

ND Paper is seeking an Equipment Operator at the Fairmont facility to oversee the sheeter line, load jumbo rolls, adjust parameters, and perform knife changes for accurate sheet production.

The role involves routine maintenance, spare parts management, and strict adherence to safety standards including lockout/tagout and PPE usage. A strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read work orders are essential; forklift certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sheeter or similar converting equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read production work orders and machine settings.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the sheeter to meet production specs for cutting, slitting, and sheet conversion.
• Safely load/unload jumbo rolls with correct alignment and tension.
• Fine‑tune machine settings to optimize performance and reduce waste.
• Perform blade changes and adjustments for precise cuts.
• Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, and inspections of equipment.
• Maintain organized spare parts inventory to prevent downtime.
• Identify and resolve mechanical/operational issues to sustain productivity.
• Monitor finished sheets for defects and customer spec compliance.
• Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout and PPE usage.
