Job summary

Ecolab's Nalco Water Bedford Park, IL Plant seeks a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager to lead a 24/7, high‑complexity operation and build a world‑class safety culture. You will own SHE systems, partner with Operations, drive audits, apply TPM, and mentor the SHE team for continuous improvement.

This is a leadership role on the Plant Leadership Team with responsibilities to ensure OSHA/EPA/state compliance, drive incident investigations, and maintain environmental permits and records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Health, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of SHE experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
• Experience with Safety / EHS Management Systems.
• Supervisory or people-leadership experience.
• Ability to influence across all levels, fast-paced 24/7 environment.
• No immigration sponsorship available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead, own, and continuously improve the site’s SHE management systems.
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance to integrate SHE into design and maintenance using TPM.
• Drive SHE metrics, analyze trends, and lead action plans with accountability.
• Lead investigations of incidents and support process safety events with root-cause analysis.
• Lead industrial hygiene and environmental compliance programs to reduce risk.
• Coordinate audits and close findings with site leadership to prevent recurrence.
• Provide SHE guidance and coaching to plant leaders, engineers, and frontline teams.
• Maintain environmental permits and compliance records (air, water, waste).
• Develop and mentor the SHE team and contribute to site strategy and capital reviews.
