Job summary

Navigate Search is seeking an experienced Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at a manufacturing facility and potential additional plant locations.

This role focuses on driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational risks, and promoting an injury-free and environmentally sustainable workplace. Collaboration with plant leadership, HR, and Corporate SHE teams will drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of environmental, health, and safety experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations (CAA, NESHAP, SPCC, SARA, RCRA, DOT).
• OSHA 511 and OSHA 501 completed.
• Advanced certifications such as CSHO, OSHT, CET, CHMM, ASP, or CSP preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of safety, health, and environmental programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, regulatory, and corporate SHE requirements.
• Partner with plant operations, HR, and corporate leadership to strengthen the company's behavior-based safety culture.
• Conduct facility inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with corporate SHE, sustainability, and operational objectives.
• Provide technical guidance, regulatory support, and training to employees and facility leadership.
• Support environmental permitting, regulatory agency interactions, compliance reporting, and corporate audits.
• Coach and develop facility SHE personnel and support the recruitment of site-level safety professionals.
• Verify SQF controls, participate in the HACCP Committee, and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable food safety requirements.
• Promote best practices, shared learning, and the company's values and Mondi Diamond principles.
