Position Details - SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Specialist - San Jose, CA - 3 days onsite

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid SharePoint Specialist role based in San Jose, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The SharePoint Specialist will manage and administer SharePoint environments, including site collections, permissions, configuration, and deployment of new features. The role includes designing and customizing SharePoint sites and workflows, supporting content management, and optimizing user experience. Daily responsibilities involve troubleshooting issues, coordinating with IT and business stakeholders, ensuring system reliability and security, and documenting configuration and support procedures. The SharePoint Specialist will also collaborate on integration projects, upgrades, and best practices to align SharePoint solutions with organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Strong SharePoint platform skills, including SharePoint and SharePoint Administration.
• Experience with SharePoint Designer for site customization, workflows, and user interface enhancements.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint and related application issues.
• Background in Information Technology, including familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and standard IT support practices.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Phoenix, AZ and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with SharePoint migrations, upgrades, security configuration, and governance is beneficial.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a business systems analyst or SharePoint/M365 specialist.
• Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online site design, administration, permissions, and governance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools: Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, Planner, and related services.
• Experience developing workflow automation, forms, and business processes.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, process flows, user guides).
• Experience supporting large enterprise or public-sector programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in transportation, construction, engineering, or public-sector environments.
• Knowledge of enterprise document management, metadata design, and content lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with Azure AD, security groups, and M365 compliance features.
• Experience with migration projects (on‑prem SharePoint to SharePoint Online).
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-600, MS-700, PL‑300, PL‑400) are a plus
