ACADEMY SCIENCE TEACHER

Job Summary: University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy is seeking an outstanding full-time Academy science teacher. Candidates should have a desire to work with all grade levels at U of D Jesuit and to teach mainstream and honors courses. Duties include instruction for five sections of science courses, one period of student prefecting, and one homeroom period per school policies. The ideal candidate must be a relationship builder with excellent communication skills and strong content knowledge and teaching strategies.This position is open for the 2025-2026 school year.

Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full benefits included.

Employment Category: Full-time, Exempt, 10-month

Duties and Responsibilities: The teacher's daily schedule includes five teaching periods, one lunch, one homeroom, one duty period, and at least one planning period. Responsibilities include preparing and grading exams, proctoring, substituting, student and parent conferences, student guidance, faculty committee participation, syllabus preparation, and attending school functions. Professional development participation is required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or related field. Graduate degree preferred.
• Current Michigan teaching certification required.
• Willingness to participate in Shared Services at U of D Jesuit.
