Job summary

Behavioral Health Network in Holyoke, MA is seeking a compassionate Shared Living Caregiver to provide in-home placement for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within our Shared Living program.

You will support independence, health, and community participation by opening your home and heart, assisting daily living, monitoring wellbeing, and coordinating with a dedicated Shared Living Coordinator. Training is provided and a stable, mission-driven workplace awaits.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to provide accommodations to meet living needs.
  • Understanding and supportive of individuals with disabilities.
  • Must pass criminal background and driving record checks, plus home assessment.
  • Commitment to empowerment, human rights, and community integration.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Open your home and heart to an individual with disabilities, helping them stay healthy and engaged in the community.
  • Assist daily living activities while encouraging independence and decision-making.
  • Monitor health and wellbeing and provide support with medications and documentation.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and emergency support when needed.
  • Initiate community activities and foster social support networks.
  • Promote quality of life with empowerment, safety, dignity, and respect.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Shared Living Caregiver to provide in-home placement for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Shared Living program. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to helping individuals thrive in their communities by supporting their independence, health, and overall quality of life.

Candidates must live in Franklin, Hampshire, or Hampden County, MA.

What You'll Do:

As a Shared Living Caregiver, you will open your home and your heart to an individual with intellectual or developmental disabilities, helping them stay healthy, get around town, manage their finances, build friendships, and be an active part of their community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist and monitor daily living activities while encouraging independence, competency, and decision-making
  • Monitor overall health and well-being and provide support with medication treatment and related documentation
  • Deliver crisis intervention and emergency support as needed
  • Initiate and encourage community activities and foster social support networks
  • Promote quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, dignity, and respect
What You'll Need:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Appropriate accommodations to meet the individual's living needs
  • Understanding and supportive of individuals with disabilities
  • Must pass a criminal background check, driving record check, and home assessment
