Role: Shared Living Area Director - South Dakota
Location: South Dakota (Regional / Field Travel Required)

We are seeking a Shared Living Area Director to oversee operations, quality care, and financial performance across our South Dakota Shared Living, residential, and day service programs.
In this leadership role, you will empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live dignified, fulfilling lives while leading a dedicated team of supervisors, coordinators, and independent contractor partners.
Operational Excellence: Oversee Individual Service Plan (ISP) development, intake assessments, and regulatory compliance across all programs. Conduct routine site evaluations and quickly resolve audit citations.
Financial Oversight: Manage site budgets, monitor reimbursement rates, manage contractor agreements, and drive program occupancy goals while preventing avoidable discharges.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor Service & Support Supervisors, Shared Living Coordinators, and Independent Contractors to maintain high performance and compliance.
Property & Safety: Ensure owned, leased, and contractor properties meet all health, safety, and regulatory standards. Lead emergency safety drills and serve as the primary on-call contact.
Experience: 5+ years in human services preferred; 2+ years specifically in IDD Shared Living/Host Home programs preferred. Proven management experience required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
Licensing & Requirements: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, active auto insurance, and ability to pass background checks and state certification requirements.
Availability: Ability to travel quarterly across assigned South Dakota regions and maintain on-call availability for evenings, weekends, and emergencies.
