Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking an Assistant Director for Retention to lead holistic advising, retention outreach, and assessment initiatives that advance student success across multiple programs. You will supervise two retention specialists and coordinate living/learning communities and tuition programs.

Ideal candidates will have substantial higher-ed experience in advising, program development, and partnership building with campus partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience advising student groups and working with diverse student populations.
• Ability to develop partnerships with faculty, staff, and community partners.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience in higher education program development, implementation, and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and financial retention advising and outreach to students.
• Coordinate with Financial Aid and OMSS staff on retention initiatives and training.
• Direct and supervise two Retention Specialists and manage performance reviews.
• Develop living/learning and high impact practice programs to improve retention and graduation.
• Engage with campus committees and assist in program assessment and reporting.
