Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Advisor for Analytical Development focused on lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation characterization. You will apply biophysical methods to assess morphology, size, and polydispersity at the single-particle level, reporting to the AD team head and collaborating across related functions.

The role involves understanding CQAs, data interpretation, and guiding process/formulation optimization with emphasis on accuracy and reproducibility.

Qualifications

• PhD in biophysics, chemistry, or related field with 0–3 years postdoc/industry experience.
• Hands-on with nanoFCM, FFF-MALS, SPARTA, and/or NTA.
• Strong understanding of nanoparticle biophysical properties and their relation to product performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply biophysical techniques to characterize LNP morphology, size, polydispersity.
• Assess particle features like empty/loaded ratios, ligand density, cargo heterogeneity.
• Evaluate aggregation and stability using single-particle and orthogonal methods.
• Design studies to link biophysical attributes to product performance.
• Qualify methods to ensure accuracy and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with Process Development, Formulation, and Bioproduct R&D.
• Analyze high-dimensional data and present actionable findings.
• Track emerging technologies and propose adoption.
• Identify external collaboration opportunities.
