Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a yard/ trailer associate to perform routine temperature checks, coordinate trailer movements, and maintain trailer cleanliness and safety. You will work flexible schedules, including overtime, and help ensure a clean, safe work environment in a meat-processing setting.

Candidates should have a GED or high school diploma, experience backing trailers in tight spaces, and operating freezer units, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and follow written

• Must safely back trailers into some very tight areas, ensuring that no damage is done to equipment.
• Must be very cautious of pedestrians.
• Must have required knowledge and experience in operating freezer units.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine temperature checks on yard trailers, taking action and reporting discrepancies.
• Coordinates the movement of trailers to shipping docks and yards
• Works schedules as assigned and overtime when required
• Responsible for trailer/shag truck maintenance, cleaning, and disinfecting
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.
