• Wash out trailers as needed and maintain wash/shag report.
• Set reefers to proper temperatures.
• Follow directions and assist traffic office as needed.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and track maintenance.
• Inspect equipment per USDOT rules and regulations.
• Monitor truck parking lot; communicate trailer issues.

SUMMARY : The Shag Driver will drive shag truck; pull and back 48 and 53-foot trailers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

• Comply with Federal, State, County, City, OSHA and Company rules and regulations.
• S afely operate shag truck both on and off the company property .
• Maintain required safety and ergonomic processes to insure a safe working environment and meet company goal of an injury free workplace.
• Drive shag truck; pull and back trailers . Must be able to spot the correct trailers in the correct docks.
• Use of electronic equipment to perform tasks and communicate with Logistics Manager.
• Physically wash out trailers as needed
• Maintain a wash and shag report .
• S et reefer units at proper temperatures.
• Must be able to follow directions
• Assist traffic office as needed
• Maintain truck cleanliness and track truck maintenance as needed.
• Understand and perform inspections of equipment as required by USDOT rules and regulations.
• Monitor truck parking lot
• Communicate issues with vendor trailers that are not working correctly.

EXPERIENCE : High School Diploma preferred but not required .

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job . Exposed to outside weather and temperatures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Multiple actions in and out of truck to hook up and unhook trailers . Steps up and down from truck cab. Will occasionally park trucks; pull and lift up to 100 pounds .

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE : The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
