Bender CCP in Vernon, CA is hiring a Shafting Technician for the 2nd shift to support specialized shaft repair and restoration projects. You will work hands-on with marine propulsion shafting and related components, performing precision fitting, sleeve installation, surface preparation, and portable machining to restore equipment to spec.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and strong mechanical aptitude, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with the repair, installation, and removal of shaft sleeves and related propulsion shafting components.
• Prepare, fit, align, and secure components for repair and assembly.
• Operate hand tools, grinders, portable milling equipment, and other tools used in shafting repair.
• Prepare shaft surfaces and assist with fiberglass/GRP wrapping, fairing, and other restoration processes.
• Perform precision fitting, finishing, measurements, and dimensional checks using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measuring tools.
• Inspect components for defects, surface conditions, fit, alignment, and dimensional accuracy.
• Assist with shaft alignment, stress relief, and inspection activities as required.
• Safely handle large components using appropriate lifting and material-handling equipment.
• Work with machining, engineering, and quality teams to complete repairs to technical specifications and customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, with overtime and weekends as needed

We're looking for a Shafting Technician to join our Vernon team and support specialized shaft repair and restoration projects. In this role, you'll work hands-on with marine propulsion shafting and related components, helping restore equipment through precision fitting, sleeve installation, surface preparation, portable machining, and other repair processes.

What You'll Do

Assist with the repair, installation, and removal of shaft sleeves and related propulsion shafting components.

What We're Looking For

Experience with marine or shipyard repair, shaft sleeves, portable machining, fiberglass or composite wrapping, rotating equipment, precision fitting, or rigging is a plus. Related mechanical or industrial experience is encouraged.
