Job summary

Bender CCP, Inc. in Portland, OR, is seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Mechanic/Technician for our second shift.

You will work on pumps, blowers, fans, vacuum pumps, and other industrial machinery, diagnosing issues and performing precision rebuilds to keep customers' operations running. Ideal candidates have at least five years of hands-on repair experience, strong knowledge of bearings, seals, and tolerances, and familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose rotating equipment.
• Perform repairs, rebuilds, and precision reassembly.
• Replace bearings, seals, shafts, impellers, gears, and couplings.
• Measure fits and clearances; verify tolerances.
• Read drawings and specs; perform alignment and setup.
• Coordinate with machining teams on repairs.
• Conduct run testing, vibration checks, and final inspections.
• Assist with field service as needed.

Bender CCP is looking for an experienced Rotating Equipment Mechanic / Technician to join our Second Shift team!

At Bender CCP, you'll work on a variety of rotating equipment, including pumps, blowers, fans, vacuum pumps, and other industrial machinery. From diagnosing mechanical issues to completing precision rebuilds, you'll play an important role in delivering reliable equipment repairs for our customers.

With over 50 years of industry experience, we serve critical industries such as power generation, oil & gas, water and wastewater, chemicals, mining, pulp & paper, and general manufacturing.

What You'll Be Doing

• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues with pumps, blowers, fans, and other rotating equipment.
• Perform equipment repairs, rebuilds, and precision reassembly.
• Replace bearings, mechanical seals, shafts, impellers, gears, and couplings.
• Measure and verify component fits, clearances, and tolerances.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Perform laser and dial indicator alignment and coupling setup.
• Coordinate with machining teams on component repairs and modifications.
• Conduct mechanical run testing, vibration checks, and final inspections.
• Assist with field service assignments as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing industrial rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of bearings, seals, shafts, fits, and clearances.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and reliable workmanship.

Additional Experience We Value

• Pump, blower, fan, or compressor repairs and overhauls.
• Laser alignment, vibration analysis, and field service.
• Machining experience or knowledge of machining processes.
• Industrial facility, refinery, power plant, or utility experience.
• Military mechanical maintenance or union mechanical trade background.

Position Details

• Pay: $35–$42/hour, depending on experience.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM.
• Overtime: Weekends and additional hours as business needs require.
