Job summary

Jobtailor in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Site SH&E Leader to drive safety, health, and environmental programs across operations. You will lead the SH&E culture, develop KPIs, and ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory requirements while partnering with Engineering, Operations, HR, and Quality teams.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, incident investigation, and training to build capabilities and sustainable change across the site. Strong leadership and communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or SH&E-related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in SH&E roles.
• Last position held as a Site SH&E leader and/or division, regional, or corporate safety and environmental experience.
• Professional SH&E certifications are beneficial, including CIH, NEBOSH, CSP, or CEM
• Experience in World Class industry for SH&E.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, LEAN, and TPM concepts.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, self-initiative, verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive sustainable organizational change and build strong cross-functional teams.

Job description

• Lead and develop a site safety, health, and environmental culture
• Participate actively on the Site Leadership Team
• Lead, coach, and develop operations line supervision as SH&E leaders
• Develop site SH&E priorities, drivers, activities, and KPIs
• Align site SH&E performance plans with corporate strategies, programs, and plans
• Maintain continuous audit-ready compliance with company policies and external regulations
• Create and implement SH&E systems, processes, procedures, and management-of-change programs
• Develop and implement SH&E programs, training, coaching, initiatives, strategies, and procedures
• Lead risk assessment and risk prediction processes to identify and mitigate hazards
• Investigate SH&E incidents, determine root causes, and implement recurrence-prevention actions
• Ensure effective injury case management
• Develop SH&E talent and employee and contractor capabilities through training and feedback
• Maintain SH&E communication processes and promote awareness of performance trends and initiatives
• Lead implementation of SH&E components of NCE and ensure third-party ISO and OHSAS certification
• Provide technical expertise and coaching across SH&E initiatives
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, HR, Quality, and NCE functions
• Provide direct leadership, guidance, and coaching to Factory SH&E staff
• Receive direct supervision from the Factory Manager and indirect guidance from Corporate/Division SH&E Managers
• Drive long-term cost reduction through behavior improvement, injury prevention, and waste prevention programs

Requirements
