Tempur Sealy in Maryland is seeking a diligent Sewing Machine Operator to run industrial sewing machines and assemble mattress components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring precision and efficiency. You will follow detailed sewing instructions, perform quality checks, lift heavy rolls of fabric, and work closely with teammates to meet daily targets.

• Load/unload materials, including lifting heavy rolls of fabric.
• Maintain clean, organized workstation and adhere to safety policies.
• Collaborate with team to sustain production flow and meet targets.

Job Summary:** Sealy Mattress Manufacturing is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operator to join our production team. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality mattress components, ensuring precision and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble various mattress components according to specifications.
• Accurately interpret and follow verbal and written instructions for sewing patterns, materials, and production quotas.
• Perform quality checks on sewn products to ensure they meet Sealy's high standards and identify any defects.
• Load and unload materials onto and from sewing machines, which may involve heavy lifting.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain production flow and meet daily targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other production tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications:

• Proven ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job (e.g., moving rolls of fabric, mattress components).
• Strong commitment to team collaboration and working effectively with colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to work cohesively within a team environment to achieve common goals.
• Excellent visual acuity to detect imperfections and ensure precise stitching and quality.
• Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 8 hours or more per shift.
• Frequent walking, squatting, turning, twisting, pushing, bending, etc. in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attendance—must be reliable and punctual.
• Must be willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
