Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a Sewer Maintenance Worker to maintain, repair, and inspect the city’s sanitary sewer system. The role may involve leading work and operating construction equipment as needed.

Qualifications include a valid Class A CDL with N endorsement, and a suite of certifications by probation; ability to work in confined spaces and after hours for emergencies is required. Competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Two years of sewer construction or related experience; HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL with N endorsement at appointment or by end of probation.
• Must obtain multiple certifications by end of probation (Second Grade Hoisting, Confined Space, Work Zone Traffic Control, Shoring and Trench Safety, CPR, Snow Plow, Forklift, Sewer Layer).

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled service in construction, repair, and maintenance of the City’s wastewater collection systems.
• Install forms and pours for pavement and pour sewer structures up to 30 ft deep.
• Operate and maintain sewer lines, dewatering, and bypassing equipment; monitor safety and traffic control.
