Job summary

The City of Saint Paul is seeking Sewer Services Workers to join the Public Works Sewer Utility. The position involves manual labor, operating equipment, and maintaining sanitary and storm sewers. A CDL Class A is required; temporary Class B may lead to a Class A later.

Interviews occur bi-weekly as vacancies arise. Training for Class A CDL may be provided; overtime and after-hours work are expected. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL with no restrictions for airbrakes.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and hazardous environments.
• Able to perform heavy manual labor in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work in confined spaces including sewer pipes, manholes, tunnels and pumping stations.
• Operate and maintain construction equipment and vehicles.
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of sewer infrastructure.
• Respond to after-hours calls, overtime, and emergencies as required.
• Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and work protocols.
• Support the CDL training program for Class A certification.
