Job summary

Electronic Frontier Foundation seeks a skilled Pipe Layer to install and repair sanitary and storm sewer systems, and to lay pipe for wastewater projects in the municipal sector. Under supervision, you will prepare trenches, align pipes, seal joints, and operate basic construction equipment in a safety-conscious crew.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least five years in construction with one year in pipe laying, and a valid Class B CDL within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of construction experience including 1 year pipe laying.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in construction fields.
• Must obtain Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sewer pipes for installation; align, seal joints, and cut to length.
• Excavate and install trenches; lay and backfill sewer pipes with proper grading.
• Locate and repair/replace pipes using detectors and surveying tools.
• Ensure site safety; monitor traffic around work zones and operate safety equipment.
• Assist in pipe lining operations and related sewer projects as needed.
• Enter work orders and use mapping systems to track tasks.
