Job summary

City of Wichita seeks a manual laborer for the Sewer Maintenance Division to support the construction and maintenance of critical wastewater infrastructure. You will work under supervision, gain experience with a variety of equipment, and have opportunities for training and growth within the City's comprehensive benefits package.

Applicants must be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift heavy items, and obtain a valid CDL with air brake endorsement within 120 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance procedures, tools, and materials used in municipal upkeep.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting heavy objects and operating basic maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing asphalt, concrete, and street repair materials.
• Flushes and maintains sewer lines and manholes.
• Load and unload construction materials at work sites.
• Assist with snow and ice removal and street cleaning activities.
• Support varied building maintenance and repair tasks.
