Job summary

City of Wichita seeks a skilled Equipment Operator to operate trucks and powered equipment safely, perform routine maintenance, and assist with loading, digging, and grading tasks for parks and streets. The role follows a 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday schedule and requires strict safety adherence.

Applicants must have six months of vehicle operation experience, a Kansas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, and a valid Kansas Driver's License.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience operating motor vehicles.
• Ability to acquire a Kansas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within six months.
• A valid Kansas Driver's License.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and powered equipment, including attached machinery.
• Perform routine servicing: refueling, lubrication, washing and minor adjustments.
• Assist in loading/unloading materials and supporting crew in maintenance tasks.
• Work outdoors and comply with safety procedures; may assist with snow removal and other duties.
