Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years of pipe layer or underground utility experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plans, specifications, grade stakes, and verbal direction from supervisors or grade checkers.
• Knowledge of trench and excavation safety practices and hazard awareness.

Responsibilities

• Install underground utility pipe per project plans, specs, and grades.
• Prepare pipe bedding and trench conditions.
• Set, align, and connect pipe, maintain line and grade.
• Operate hand tools and pipe-laying equipment safely and effectively.
• Read and understand plans, specifications, grade stakes, and direction from Foremen or grade checkers.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
