Job summary

Town of Easthampton seeks a Sewer Craftsperson in the Sewer Department to perform skilled technical and manual work in construction, maintenance, and repair of sewer facilities and related equipment.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related work experience or technical training at the journeyman level, plus MA CDL Class B, 2B/4E Hoisting Engineer's Licenses, and OSHA 10 certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; at least one year of related work experience or technical training to perform assigned duties at the journeyman level; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled manual work in the construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of the sewer system, including gravity mains, laterals and collectors, service connections, and manholes.
• Perform skilled manual work in the construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of the storm drain system, including mains and laterals, culverts, manholes, and catch basins.
• Repair sewer leaks; install and operate related motor equipment.
• Prepare diagrams of sewer services and sewer mains for insertion in record books.
• Patch trenches and street openings after back-filling; raise manhole covers for street resurfacing.
• Maintain records of materials used on outside construction or repair projects; inventory of materials and supplies; and records of repairs and replacements, including the repair and installation of sewer and drain pipes, manholes, catch basins, and related equipment.
• Performs related manual labor work.

The Sewer Craftspersonperforms skilled technical and manual work for the Department of Public Works, Sewer Department. This position involves work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities for sewage collection and transport. It also includes maintenance and repair of plant and motor equipment, as well as periodic operation of motor equipment.

Wages:$23.23 - $26.94 Per Hour
