The Town of Needham is seeking a full-time Craftsworker on the Sewer & Drain team within the Water, Sewer, and Drains division. The role involves operating specialized equipment, performing skilled craft work on water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, and handling related records.

Qualifications

Valid MA Driver's License required.
CDL Class A or B required.
One to three years of directly relevant craft experience.
High school diploma plus on-the-job or short vocational training.

Responsibilities

Performs skilled and semi-skilled craft work related to utilities infrastructure (water, wastewater, stormwater).
Repairs and maintains water hydrants and related systems.
Operates heavy equipment (front end loader, backhoe, excavator, Vactor, Jet-Vac).
Follows safety precautions on public works projects.
Prepares routine records, logs, and reports; responds to inquiries from the public or contractors.
Participates in Snow & Ice Program and assists other DPW projects as needed.
