Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with severe education needs under licensed special education staff. The role involves small-group and one-on-one instruction, curriculum adaptation, and progress tracking in both on-site and remote settings.

The position requires assisting with behavior strategies, tasks from IEPs, and coordination with teachers. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention and medication administration is provided by the district.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma is required.
• No professional work experience required.
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District.
• Medication administration training provided by the District as needed.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs.
• Maintain records of student progress and behavior in collaboration with licensed staff.
• Assist with materials preparation and tests, and help with classroom events like fire drills.
• Provide support in online/remote learning, including helping with technology and assignment completion.
• Monitor and reinforce appropriate behavior and assist in de-escalation.
• Follow IEP procedures and report observations to the IEP team.
