Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments require specific educational prerequisites (Reading/Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics).
• Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District for Autism/Behavioral/ILC roles.
• Medication administration training provided by the District as needed.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment (phones, copiers, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate interpersonal relations skills.
• Intermediate organizational skills.
• Ability to modify curriculum and implement behavior modification techniques.
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.
• DHH/Homebound program familiarity may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs.
• Implement IEP accommodations and maintain progress/behavior records with licensed staff.
• Assist with preparing materials, administering tests, attendance, and related paperwork.
• Support in online/remot e learning with technology access and curriculum reinforcement.
• Monitor student progress and assist with other classroom events and drills.
• In the ILC/Homebound/SED assignments, reinforce appropriate behavior and support crisis de-escalation when needed.
