Job summary

Black Oak Casino Resort in Tuolumne, CA is seeking a Guest Services Associate to ensure the Seven Sisters Restaurant runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

You will greet guests, seat them, present menus, and coordinate front-of-house flow while recommending wine and other amenities. A strong emphasis on guest services and beverage knowledge is essential, along with POS proficiency and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience in fine dining and/or Food and Beverage preferred.
• Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe and Responsible Alcohol Service certification or have proof of current certification.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong emphasis on guest services.
• Ability to effectively interact with internal and external Guests.
• Strong knowledge of spirits/wine.
• Ability to learn and operate point-of-sale system.
• Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
• Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
• Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
• Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the reservation book for restaurant including receiving calls, checking messages, and assisting walk-ins with Guest Service Standards.
• Ensures fair and equal flow of seating for Servers and Guests.
• Greets Guests and escorts Guests to their table and presents menus.
• Recommends wine, spirits, and other amenities to Guests.
• Works with the front and back of house staff to ensure meals are produced per specifications and Guest requests.
• Assists Manager in achieving objectives and quality standards.
• Follows up with Guests after meals regarding service and quality.
• Assists in ensuring service procedures and safety procedures are followed.
• Uses tact to resolve Guest conflicts and communicates with staff under Manager direction.
• Adjusts ticket transactions, splits/transfers checks in absence of Manager.
• Assists with service standards training and end-of-month inventory.

SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operation of the Seven Sisters Restaurant.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintains the reservation book for restaurant including receiving calls, checking messages, and assisting walk-ins with special attention to Guest Service Standards.
• Ensures fair and equal flow of seating for Servers and Guests.
• Greets Guests and escorts Guests to their table and presents menus.
• Recommends wine, spirits, and other amenities to Guests.
• Works with the front and back of house staff to ensure Guest meals are produced in accordance with specifications and Guest requests.
• Assists Manager in achieving predetermined objectives and desired standards of quality food, service, cleanliness, merchandising and promotion.
• Follows up with Guest (post meal) regarding service and quality.
• Assists in ensuring that all service procedures/standards and safety procedures are followed.
• Uses tact and diplomacy to collect accurate information to resolve Guest conflicts.
• Communicates, leads and directs staff under the direction of the Manager.
• Adjusts ticket transactions such as, splitting and transferring checks in the absence of Seven Sisters Manager.
• Assists in service standards training and practical application.
• Assists with end of month inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
