PARALEGAL MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION: Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Paralegal Manager to help lead fire Settlement team(s). This position is fast-paced and supports a team of attorneys doing regular litigation in state and federal courts.

This is a remote role open to California based applicants.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

$85,000-$115,000 annually.

Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Possess all the skills outlined for the role and demonstrate a high level of proficiency.
  • This role involves anticipating potential challenges, developing proactive solutions, and coordinating efforts across teams to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Be effective in managing and leading the day-to-day activities of the staff and provide support and mentorship to the Settlement team.
  • Work collaboratively with the Settlement Manager and a large team.
  • Communicating regularly with clients. Take lead on handling client issues. Handle highly sensitive client communications and solve complex issues before they are brought to an attorney.
  • Provide support and mentorship to case assistants and paralegals regarding legal questions and processes.
  • Work well independently, proactively, with minimal attorney supervision and should serve as a resource for all staff on their team.
  • Need to demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, handle complex projects, and provide reliable support to the legal team.
  • Oversee settlement process management, structure, and assist in strategic planning to ensure team goals are met.
  • Manage and direct large-scale projects and ensure that the team delivers exceptional, timely results.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and possess an intricate understanding of their team's needs.
  • Drafting, reviewing, finalizing, filing, and serving of settlement agreements, requests for dismissals and minor's compromises in multiple jurisdictions throughout California, Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, Texas, and Hawaii.
  • Drafting, reviewing, finalizing, and tracking settlement disbursement agreements for clients after settlement.
  • Independently train and supervise other paralegals and staff.
  • Review and audit daily work product for the Settlement team.
  • Possess a strong understanding of each team member's strengths and assign tasks and workflow accordingly.
  • Identifying, tracking, and managing case-related deadlines in an electronic calendaring system.
  • Management of electronic information and document management.
  • Creating and utilizing doc generation templates.
  • Ensuring firm's compliance with local rules of professional responsibility, particularly pertaining to timing of notifying clients of the receipt of funds and timely distribution thereof.
  • Staying abreast of rules of civil procedure in both state and federal courts, including CM/ECF filing/Pacer and other filing programs for state courts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must possess a paralegal certificate or meet the Bus. & Prof. Code § 6450 requirements.
  • 10+ years of experience with working up cases and doing paralegal-level tasks.
  • 10+ years of experience practicing, preferably in litigation.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Experience in case management software programs, preferably FileVine.
  • Proficient in Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
  • Familiar with E-Discovery and law programs such as, Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, OneLegal, File & Serve Express, JAMS portal, Milana, VineSign, and others as needed.
  • A successful candidate will be detail oriented and organized, be a team player, be reliable, and capable of multitasking and managing several time-critical projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
