Job summary

Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP is seeking a Settlement Coordinator - Client Distributions to join our Finance team in the United States. The role focuses on accurate distribution of settlement funds to clients and involved parties, with emphasis on compliance and clear communication.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (preferred), experience in a law firm setting, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with legal and accounting software to manage disbursements and records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; not required
• Familiarity with settlement processes and client disbursements
• Proficiency with legal and accounting software to manage disbursements and records
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate distribution of settlement funds to clients and parties
• Review settlement agreements and confirm disbursement amounts per client agreements
• Maintain detailed disbursement records in the firm’s system
• Communicate with clients to explain the disbursement process and provide updates
• Collaborate with settlement team and attorneys to obtain signatures and documents
• Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards in disbursement
• Assist with creating and managing disbursement journals and related records
• Troubleshoot issues in settlement fund distributions
