Job summary

Eagle Crusher is seeking experienced set-up welders in Bucyrus, OH to join an experienced shop team. You will read blueprints, lay out parts, and weld using various processes including TIG, MMA, and shielded arc. Foreseeable duties include maintenance of equipment and clean work areas, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Minimum three years of set-up welding needed; a 2G weld test must be passed. Familiarity with overhead cranes and forklifts is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience doing set-up welds and ability to pass a 2G weld test.
• Experience with TIG, MMA and other welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Read and interpret blue prints, welding process specifications and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
• Experience operating a forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Flexible schedule and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine equipment, plan layout, set-up and welding.
• Performs laying out, cutting, bending, forming and assembly operations using fixtures and positioners in preparation for welding.
• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Places components together and aligns them for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structures.
• Operates overhead crane and/or forklift as needed.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to set-up and/or weld out structural forms parts by performing the following duties.

Requirements:

• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.).
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications and welding symbols.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints, welding process specifications and welding symbols.
• Knowledgeable of different kinds of metal and their properties.
• Experience operating a forklift and/or overhead crane .
