Job summary

Eagle Crusher Co. Inc. in Ohio is seeking Welders to join a talented team.

You will cut and join metals for heavy equipment such as crushers and conveyors, using TIG, MMA and other welding methods. The role requires reading blueprints and interpreting drawings, plus the ability to operate grinders and material-handling equipment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, welding experience, and can pass a 3G weld test.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as welder and ability to pass a 3G weld test.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Knowledgeable of different kinds of metal and their properties.
• Experience operating a forklift and/or overhead crane preferred.
• Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Plan and perform welding processes, including fabrication, weldments, machine parts, and tools of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Lay out, cut, bend, form and assemble using fixtures and positioners for welding prep.
• Select welding rod, tips, current and gas pressure according to material and job requirements; ensure proper penetration and fusion.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures.
• Operate overhead crane and/or forklift as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform related duties as required.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
• Plan and perform the welding process that best fits the job you are assigned, including fabrications, weldments, machine parts, and tools of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Perform necessary laying out, cutting, bending, forming and assembly operations using fixtures and positioners in preparation for welding.
• Select proper welding rod and tips; select and set current and amperage, and gas pressure according to type of material and individual job requirements. Manipulate electrode or torch to lay a smooth, even bead, obtain proper penetration and fusion, avoid burning or distortion, especially the sections or dissimilar metals. Visually inspect work and clean welds on completion of operation.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure.
• Operate overhead crane and/or forklift as needed.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs any related duties as required or assigned.
