Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure is seeking a mold technician to install and remove molds, maintain molding equipment, and ensure safe operation in our production facility. Responsibilities include connecting water and hydraulic lines, installing/removing nozzles and heater blocks, and transporting molds with crane and forklift.

The role requires forklift and crane certifications, lockout/tagout, and tool training. Experience with mold changes in plastics is helpful; lifting up to 40 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required.
• Crane certification required.
• Lockout/tag out certification required.
• Hand and power tool training for torch and various hand tools.
• Previous experience changing molds in plastics machines helpful.
• Torch experience preferred.
• Bench grinder experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Remove molds from machines per procedures (water/hydraulic lines, nozzles, heater blocks, molds).
• Install molds into machines (water/hydraulic lines, nozzles, heater blocks, clamping).
• Clean and repair molding nozzles.
• Wires heater bands together.
• Install and/or remove inserts for molds as scheduled.
• Rig molds for removal and installation into machines.
• Transport molds in facility using crane and forklift.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of mold components and tools.

Job Summary

Installs and removes molds and lines/fixtures for molding machines. Maintains the condition of the molds and molding equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Follows set procedures for removing molds from machines, including but not limited to: Removal of water and hydraulic lines, removal of nozzles and heater blocks, unclamping/unfastening molds, hooking and hoisting molds from the machine
• Follows set procedures for installing molds into machines, including but not limited to: Connection of water and hydraulic lines, installation of nozzles and heater blocks, clamping/fastening molds
• Cleans and repairs molding nozzles
• Wires heater bands together
• Installs and/or removes inserts for molds as scheduled
• Rigs molds for removal from, and installation into machines
• Transports molds in facility via use of the crane and forklift
• Maintains cleanliness, safety, and functionality of mold components and tools
