Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is seeking a Process Technician to ensure maximum uptime of plastic injection molding equipment and adherence to customer specifications. You will diagnose quality variations, start and adjust molding machines, and collaborate with maintenance and material handlers to keep production on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent and hands-on experience with plastic injection molding, lockout/tagout, and basic tool use.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience with processing plastic injection molding machines.
  • Lock out/tag out authorization.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates the start of molding machines to meet production targets.
  • Troubleshoots molding machine malfunctions or bottlenecks.
  • Records details of machine malfunctions and adjustments.
  • Communicates material adjustments to material handlers to improve efficiency.
  • Performs test runs after adjustments to ensure quality compliance.
  • Changes machine inserts to meet customer specifications.
  • Notifies maintenance of electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic issues.
  • Identifies parts or machines needing replacement and notifies supervisor.
  • Writes simple robot programs and makes minor adjustments.
  • Maintains End-Of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) and basic robot operations.

Job Summary

The Process Technician ensures maximum uptime of production machines by diagnosing and addressing quality issues and variations from customer specifications due to molding machines, processes, materials, or operator interactions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Initiates the start of molding machines and ensures proper functionality to support the on-time completion of production targets
  • Troubleshoots molding machine malfunctions or bottlenecks that can be corrected by material changes or process adjustments
  • Records the details of machine malfunctions and the appropriate adjustments as required
  • Communicates and verifies necessary raw material adjustments to material handlers to improve production efficiency and accuracy
  • Conducts test runs of process or machine adjustments to ensure proper machine functionality and alignment with quality standards
  • Routinely changes machine inserts to customize product wording or labeling in accordance with customer specifications
  • Notifies a Maintenance Technician of a machine electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic issue or problems that may require a fabricated solution
  • Identifies parts or machines that need new parts or need to be replaced and notifies the supervisor
  • Assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies under the guidance of a technical Manager
  • Performs routine analyses and calculations, and recommends changes in equipment, products or test methods
  • Assists the on-shift supervisor with assigning operators to machines and provides direction to Machine Operator as to machine cycle time and operating multiple machines at a time
  • Assists Material Handlers with troubleshooting material issues
  • Writes simple robot programs and makes minor adjustments to complex programs
  • Has basic knowledge of moving different robots
  • Has the ability to service and maintain End-Of-Arm Tooling (EOAT)
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior experience with processing of plastic injection molding machines required
  • Lock out/tag out authorization provided by company
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools
  • Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, bending, stretching, using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and fit items
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
