Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH Company, is seeking an industrious technician to install and remove molds and lines for molding machines. You will maintain molds and equipment, follow set procedures, and assist with the safe operation of hydraulic and water systems.

The role requires forklift and crane certifications, lockout/tagout training, and experience with torches and grinders. Lifting up to 40 lbs is expected; prior mold-changing in plastics is helpful.

Qualifications

• Forklift and crane certifications are required.
• Lockout/tagout certification is required.
• Experience with torches and bench grinders is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and operate hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Follows procedures to remove molds and lines from molding machines.
• Connects water and hydraulic lines, installs nozzles and heater blocks, and clamps molds.
• Cleans and repairs molding nozzles and wires heater bands.
• Installs/removes inserts and rigs molds for machine changes.
• Transports molds within the facility using crane and forklift.

Job Summary

Installs and removes molds and lines/fixtures for molding machines. Maintains the condition of the molds and molding equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Follows set procedures for removing molds from machines, including but not limited to: Removal of water and hydraulic lines, removal of nozzles and heater blocks, unclamping/unfastening molds, hooking and hoisting molds from the machine
• Follows set procedures for installing molds into machines, including but not limited to: Connection of water and hydraulic lines, installation of nozzles and heater blocks, clamping/fastening molds
• Cleans and repairs molding nozzles
• Wires heater bands together
• Installs and/or removes inserts for molds as scheduled
• Rigs molds for removal from, and installation into machines
• Transports molds in facility via use of the crane and forklift
• Maintains cleanliness, safety, and functionality of mold components and tools

Job Requirements

• Forklift certification
• Crane certification
• Authorized lockout/tag out certification
• Hand and power tool training for use of torch and various hand tools
• Previous experience changing molds in plastics machines helpful
• Torch experience preferred
• Bench grinder experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
