Job summary

Georgia Pacific is seeking a Set Up Technician for its Janesville, WI facility. You will perform tooling set-up/removal to meet production deadlines while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities include tooling installation/removal, equipment inspection, and completing documentation. This role requires experience with mechanical setup and adherence to Lockout/Tagout and SOPs, with potential overtime based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing/assembling mechanical equipment.
• Experience meeting safety standards in an industrial environment.
• Thermoforming or Injection Molding experience is a plus.

Your Job

Georgia Pacificis seeking a Set Up Technician for their Janesville, WI facility. The Set Up Technician will meet or exceed production deadlines by performing complex tooling set-up and removal. They will meet or exceed all the standards of safety, quality, efficiency, machine up-time and scrap, and assist the plastics department in achieving its continuous improvement goals at a minimum cost to the company.

The regular schedule in this role will be 1st shift: 6am to 2pm Monday through Friday. Weekends, holidays and overtime may be required based on business need.

Compensation in this role will be commensurate with experience.

What You Will Do

• Perform all set-up duties following the written procedure and safety guidelines
• Direct the work in installation or removal of plastic thermoforming tooling from the machines
• Ensure all tooling components are complete and in good working order (Molds, Plugs, Cut Dies, Stainless Steel Strike Surfaces, Trim Station standoffs, Form Tooling and Assemblies, Trim Tooling and Assemblies, Knockout Tooling and Assemblies, Robotic End of Arm Tooling)
• Perform critical character analysis, including the visual, functional inspection
• Complete all necessary documentation utilizing departmental computer and associated materials
• Perform preventive maintenance duties on machines as per schedule, including cleaning, etc.
• Maintain training on Lockout/Tagout, normal operating procedures, and other safety standards
• Resolve safety concerns or refer them to your supervisor

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing/assembling mechanical equipment
• Experience meeting safety standards in an industrial environment

What Will Put You Ahead

• Thermoforming or Injection Molding experience
• Experience working in a clean manufacturing environment (food, pharmaceuticals, etc.)
