Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Janesville, WI is seeking a Set Up Technician to meet production deadlines by performing complex tooling setup and removal. The role follows 6am–2pm Monday–Friday, with weekends, holidays, and overtime possible as needed.

You will support the plastics department in safety, quality and efficiency goals and help reduce scrap and downtime. Responsibilities include tool installation/removal, equipment inspection, documentation, and preventive maintenance while upholding

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment.
• Ability to meet safety standards in industrial environments.
• Experience with tooling setup and removal is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all set-up duties following the written procedure and safety guidelines.
• Direct the work in installation or removal of plastic thermoforming tooling from the machines.
• Ensure all tooling components are complete and in good working order (Molds, Plugs, Cut Dies, Stainless Steel Strike Surfaces, Trim Station standoffs, Form Tooling and Assemblies, Trim Tooling and Assemblies, Knockout Tooling and Assemblies, Robotic End of Arm Tooling).
• Perform critical character analysis, including the visual, functional inspection.
• Complete all necessary documentation utilizing departmental computer and associated materials.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties on machines as per schedule, including cleaning, etc.
• Maintain training on Lockout/Tagout, normal operating procedures, and other safety standards.
• Resolve safety concerns or refer them to your supervisor.

Georgia Pacific is seeking a Set Up Technician for their Janesville, WI facility. The Set Up Technician will meet or exceed production deadlines by performing complex tooling set-up and removal. They will meet or exceed all the standards of safety, quality, efficiency, machine up-time and scrap, and assist the plastics department in achieving its continuous improvement goals at a minimum cost to the company.

The regular schedule in this role will be 1st shift: 6am to 2pm Monday through Friday. Weekends, holidays and overtime may be required based on business need.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Thermoforming or Injection Molding experience
• Experience working in a clean manufacturing environment (food, pharmaceuticals, etc.)
