Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a Set-up Operator II for the Cheraw, SC area to set up and program operating machines, oversee ramp-up, and support ongoing operation and inspection. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety rules on the shop floor.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, demonstrate ability to read measurements and blueprints, follow instructions in English, and lift moderate weights as needed. Shift premiums apply for 2nd/3rd shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and programming of operating machines including accuracy and effectiveness checks in first test sequences.
• Oversee ramp up of machines after setup procedure and support Operators in operating the machines.
• Support maintenance in the repair, prevention of downtime and inspection of machines.
• Follow documented procedures and processes and maintain accurate records and tracking.
• Check finished product/product component and submits for approval.
• Follow all safety and production rules and ensure proper use of PPE at all times.

Your Key Responsibilities

Set up and programming of operating machines including accuracy and effectiveness checks in first test sequences

Oversee ramp up of machines after setup procedure and support Operators in operating the machines

Support maintenance in the repair, prevention of downtime and inspection of machines

Follow all safety and production rules and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Your Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Ability to use instruments for measuring and to identify defects

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and write clear communications in English

Ability to operate medium-complex machinery for use in inspection

Ability to lift medium-heavy objects if required

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship

Preferred:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment

Experience working with power tools

Ability to read blueprints

Salary Range: $23.50 - $26.45

• 2nd and 3rd shift premium available
