Job summary

Trojan Battery Company in Santa Fe Springs is seeking a Set-Up Operator to ensure all set-up records are input and documented in Maintenance, while assisting training of new employees. You will coordinate setup, support safety procedures, and maintain efficient changeovers on multiple equipment lines.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3-5 years in manufacturing with leadership experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role.
• Proficient in Microsoft software products (Excel and Word) and any department specific computer programs
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Good writing and communication skills
• Forklift Driver Certified
• Knowledge of Hand Tools
• Basic computer skills
• Forklift certified

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE
• Perform all set up and change-over
• Must be familiar with set up on all equipment: Intercell Welder (Front/Mid/Back) Shear/Short Tester (Front/Mid/Back) Hydroseal (2 head & 3 head) (Front/Mid/Back) Post Welder (Back Line) Air Testers (Front/Mid/Back)
• Material Staging
• First article processing through the Burst Test
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Maintain Logs and Records
• Understand Work instructions and know where they are posted
• Follow and maintain Lean activities (5S, housekeeping, hygiene, etc)
• Be at work station on time
• Leave work station on time, unless otherwise instructed by your Team Lead/supervisor

Areas of Focus

Set-Up Operator focuses on following up with mechanics to assure all set-up operator records are inputted and completes required documentation in Maintenance. Set-up Operator coordinates, assists training of new employees.

Responsibilities

Safety Requirements

Comply with Blood Lead health and Hygiene Protocols

Understand and comply with correct lifting procedures which enable lifting up to 50 lbs

Comply with Hazard communication procedures

Must follow all Ergonomic recommendations and safety procedures

Salary Range: $24.50..-$26.50/hr
