Job summary

Cornerstone Home Lending, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank, is seeking a Mortgage Set Up Clerk to join a goal-oriented team. You will work closely with Loan Originators and Customers to support the loan process, ensuring accuracy and timely closings.

The role emphasizes meticulous document review, knowledge of underwriting guidelines, and proactive workload management to help fund a monthly target. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, & VA underwriting guidelines a plus
• Ability to order and review all verification documents; insurance, title work, tax transcripts, verification of employment, verification of deposits, flood certifications, payoffs
• Ability to independently calculate all types of self-employed income a plus
• Ability to assist in funding a minimum of 20 units per month while working towards the same units for the following month
• Ability to monitor and manage workflow to ensure timely closings
• Maintain product knowledge and stay up to date on changes to market conditions
• Ability to communicate with borrowers, operations staff, title companies, Realtors, etc., to expedite mortgage process
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to mortgage lending

• Experience using Empower LOS is a plus.
• SalesForce experience and knowledge on working within a database a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Teamwork and customer service a must
• Self-motivated and energetic
• Strong computer and technology related skills
• Able to work independently and proactively, prioritizing workload and handle multiple tasks
