Job summary

OceanaGold’s Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina is seeking a hands-on team member to perform basic upkeep and clean-up tasks across the mine site. The role involves moving debris, cleaning lay downs, and supporting underground and surface areas with safe, day-to-day operations.

Open to candidates with on-the-job training and no prior experience; you will gain practical skills, work in a dynamic mining environment, and contribute to a safety-focused team with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be able to operate a straight shift vehicle and pull a small trailer at the mine.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Job Description

The role is to perform basic upkeep of the mine such as cleaning up trash and debris from the lay downs and transferring underground toilets to and from the underground work areas.

1. Category 1

• Transfer UG toilets to and from the surface area to the underground work areas

2. Category 2

• Clean up trash and other debris from the lay downs and work areas as needed

3 Category 3

• Basic attention to the clean-up of the surface areas such as gardens, boot wash and sidewalks

4. Category 4

• Wash and clean the underground light vehicles

Qualifications

• On the job training
• No experience needed
• Ability to operate a straight shift vehicle and pull a small trailer throughout the mine
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in both office and operational mining environments.
• Ability to regularly access active mining and processing areas to support operational teams
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs and access elevated work areas as required.
• Ability to wear and use mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
