Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Software Engineer for a long-term contract in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) with a leading Financial Services client. You will develop on the ServiceNow platform, focus on TPRM, and contribute to AI-related use cases while mentoring junior engineers.

The role involves collaboration with Agile teams, code reviews, and ensuring secure, scalable software delivery in a fast-paced environment. 24-month contract with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through experience or education.
  • Develop and configure solutions on the ServiceNow platform using scripting and configuration.
  • Work extensively with the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) module.
  • Develop and maintain custom scoped applications.
  • Code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables.
  • Follow secure, scalable development standards and best practices.
  • Work with Agile/Scrum teams on technical stories, backlog prioritization, and feature delivery.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform manual and automated testing and support CI practices.
  • Evaluate technical impacts and assist with releases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and platform teams.
  • Contribute to Agentic AI use cases where applicable.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
  • Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale Software Engineering challenges requiring deep evaluation.
  • Contribute to resolutions meeting deliverables with policies and compliance requirements.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
  • Develop on the ServiceNow platform utilizing configuration and scripting.
  • Work on the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) module.
  • Deliver per best practices in partnership with core and platform teams.
  • Code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables using agreed standards.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with defined standards.
  • Ensure product backlog has technical stories and participates in prioritization.
  • Communicate with stakeholders for feature delivery.
  • Maintain depth of understanding of third party/cloud solutions.
  • Coordinate with releases and evaluate impacts of new product releases.
  • Communicate progress daily with Scrum Master and Product Owner; provide blockers.
  • Participate in code reviews and retrospectives; drive team improvement.
  • Ensure quality through manual and automated testing and CI practices.
  • Educate and guide less-experienced staff.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Develop and configure solutions on the ServiceNow platform using scripting and configuration.
  • Work extensively with the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) module.
  • Develop and maintain custom scoped applications.
  • Code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables.
  • Follow secure, scalable development standards and best practices.
  • Work with Agile/Scrum teams on technical stories, backlog prioritization, and feature delivery.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform manual and automated testing and support continuous integration practices.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Able to contribute towards Agentic AI use cases
  • Able to deliver per best practices in partnership with core and platform team
  • Code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables using agreed upon standards and tools
  • Ensure that solutions delivered by self or team members are secure and scalable, comply with defined standards and best practices
  • Ensure product backlog has appropriate technical stories and participates in their prioritization
  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features
  • Maintain depth of technical understanding of third party/cloud solutions
  • Evaluate technical impacts from and coordinates implementation of new product releases
  • Communicate daily with the Scrum Master or Technical Product Owner and the Agile team on progress made, planned progress for the coming day, and reports any impediments/blockers
  • Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives; ensuring their ideas for team continuous improvement are communicated so that the overall process and team can improve sprint by sprint and readily receives feedback for self-improvement
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of existing and new features through both manual and automated testing and use of continuous Integration techniques
  • Educate and provide guidance to less-experienced staff
