Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Software Engineer for a long-term contract in Irving, TX. Hybrid work arrangement with a leading Financial Services client.

You will contribute to moderately complex software initiatives, analyze challenges, and collaborate with client teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform and related cloud solutions. The role involves coding, configuration, testing, and documentation, with daily coordination with the Scrum Master and Product Owner

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, training, military or education.

Responsibilities

• Consult on moderately complex initiatives within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning.
• Review and analyze challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of factors.
• Contribute to resolution of issues and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.
• Develop on the ServiceNow platform using configuration and scripting.
• Work on the Third Party Risk Management module.
• Contribute towards Agentic AI use cases.
• Deliver per best practices with core and platform teams.
• Code, configure, unit test, maintain and document software.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and compliant with standards.
• Maintain technical depth of third-party/cloud solutions.
• Communicate progress with Scrum Master/PO daily and raise blockers.
• Participate in code reviews and retrospectives for continuous improvement.
• Ensure quality through manual and automated testing and CI.
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical deliverables.
• Educate and guide less-experienced staff.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.

What You Will Be Doing

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables.
• Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.
• Develop on the ServiceNow platform utilizing configuration and scripting
• Work on the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) module
• Able to contribute towards Agentic AI use cases
• Able to deliver per best practices in partnership with core and platform team
• Code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables using agreed upon standards and tools
• Ensure that solutions delivered by self or team members are secure and scalable, comply with defined standards and best practices
• Ensure product backlog has appropriate technical stories and participates in their prioritization
• Responsible for communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features
• Maintain depth of technical understanding of third party/cloud solutions
• Evaluate technical impacts from and coordinates implementation of new product releases
• Communicate daily with the Scrum Master or Technical Product Owner and the Agile team on progress made, planned progress for the coming day, and reports any impediments/blockers
• Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives; ensuring their ideas for team continuous improvement are communicated so that the overall process and team can improve sprint by sprint and readily receives feedback for self-improvement
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of existing and new features through both manual and automated testing and use of continuous Integration techniques
• Collaborate with business analysts to confirm understanding of business requirements relating to features to be delivered and to help business analysts define requirements that can be delivered from a technical perspective
• Educate and provide guidance to less-experienced staff
