ServiceNow ATF Developer designs, builds, and maintains automated regression and functional test cases using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) to ensure platform reliability across ITSM, ITAM, AIOps, SecOps, CMDB/CSDM and enterprise workflows in a regulated banking environment. This role partners with platform owners, developers, product/process owners, and risk/compliance teams to embed test automation into the bank’s SDLC and release management practices, ensuring high-quality deployments with strong auditability, traceability, and control adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ATF test suites for ServiceNow applications including ITSM (Incident, Change, Problem, Request/Service Catalog, Knowledge), ITAM/VR, CMDB/CSDM and other enabled modules as applicable.
- Create reusable ATF assets: test steps, shared test data, setup/teardown patterns, and modular test designs for scalability.
- Build automated regression packs for:
- Platform upgrades (e.g., family releases)
- Monthly releases/sprints
- High-risk changes impacting critical workflows
- Implement reliable data setup strategies (fixtures) and protect tests from flakiness caused by environment/test-data drift.
- Ensure automated tests validate ITIL-aligned process outcomes, including:
- Correct routing/assignment and SLA triggers
- Change Enablement workflows (approvals, CAB, risk calculation, blackout windows)
- Knowledge workflows (article lifecycle, visibility, governance)
- Partner with process owners to translate requirements into acceptance criteria and test cases that verify controls and outcomes.
- Integrate ATF execution into the bank’s release pipeline and deployment process (e.g., scheduled test runs, pre/post-deployment validations).
- Support automated evidence collection for releases—test execution results, defect logs, and traceability to user stories/changes.
- Establish gating criteria (pass/fail thresholds) for promoting changes across environments.
- Expand automation coverage based on risk and production defect trends (shift-left testing).
- Troubleshoot test failures and distinguish between:
- Environmental issues
- Test script fragility/data issues
- Document defects with reproducible steps and collaborate with developers to resolve issues quickly.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of ServiceNow experience, with 1-2 yrs hands-on focus on ATF and platform testing/QA automation.
- Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes, especially:
- Knowledge Management
- Experience with SDLC and release management in controlled environments (preferably banking/financial services).
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow configuration/development concepts:
- Forms, flows/workflows, ACLs, business rules, client scripts
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and ability to triage failures across complex workflows.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
