Responsibilities

• Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff.
• Develops architectural products and deliverables for enterprise and operations.
• Develops strategy of system and the design infrastructure to support that strategy.
• Advises on selection of technological purchases for processing, storage, data access, and applications development.
• Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure (SQL, Oracle, Sybase).
• Advises on feasibility of potential future projects to management.
• Design end-to-end ServiceNow solutions aligned with business objectives; develop data models, integrations, workflows.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members on ServiceNow capabilities and implementation strategies.
• Gather and analyze business requirements; translate to technical specifications and design documents.
• Develop the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS; configure workflows and catalog items.
• Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other systems using REST, SOAP, MID Servers.

ServiceNow Architect role for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) in the DC Government.
The ideal candidate is a DMV resident with a Bachelor's degree in IT, 9+ years of Enterprise Architecture experience, 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, and deep knowledge of modules including ITSM, ITOM, and ITFM.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff.
• Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines.
• Develops strategy of system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
• Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.
• Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization (Structured Query Language (SQL), Oracle, Sybase).
• Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management.
• Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end ServiceNow solutions that align with business objectives and requirements. Develop technical architecture, data model, integrations, and workflows to support business processes.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and methodologies. Mentor team members on ServiceNow platform capabilities and implementation strategies.
• Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements. Translate requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
• Platform Development: Develop the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, and CSS to meet specific business needs. Configure workflows, forms, UI policies, and catalog items.
• Integration: Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST APIs, SOAP, MID Servers, and other integration techniques. Ensure data integrity and security in integrations.
• Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize ServiceNow performance and scalability. Implement performance tuning measures and monitor system performance to ensure optimal operation.
• Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and security standards in ServiceNow implementations. Implement security controls, access restrictions, and audit mechanisms as necessary.
• Documentation and Training: Create technical documentation including design documents, architecture diagrams, and configuration guides. Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and end-users.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 9 years of experience in IT Systems Roadmap Development.
• 9 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect.
• 9 years of experience with system diagramming and modeling using structured modeling languages (e.g., UML).
• 6 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITFM, HRSD, PPM and SPM.
• 5 years of experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, and other integration protocols.
• 5 years of proven experience architecting and implementing complex ServiceNow solutions in enterprise environments.
• 5 years of strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture including core modules, and components.
• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications (Highly desired).
